Retirement isn't the end, it's the beginning.  I keep remembering how I felt on summer vacation as a kid...no responsibility, no clocks ( well fewer clocks), living in the moment, not to make money.

I paint,  hike, cook, garden, teach Tai Chi, read, whatever I want, whenever I want.  It's like living for the sake of living right now.
What's on my mind?  It's MLK Day.  I'm reading a science fiction book about racism and  bigotry and political philosophy.  I love good science fiction when it explores social issues out of context so that we can think about them with some detachment.  The book is "Beggars in Spain" byNancy Kress.  She says "Law is not theater".   It made me think about our present day congress and the political farce that is our presidential campaign.  I believe, probably because my sanity requires it, in the evolution of humankind towards a higher and happier social construct.  What should each of us be doing (besides watching football) to make that happen?
